A 10 year-old boy from Maryland is being praised by people all over the world after he donated his hair to make wigs for children who have cancer.
Thomas Moore got the idea to do this when he saw his mother watching a video about a 5 year-old girl named Kyssi Andrews who had lost all of her hair while getting chemotherapy treatments for cancer. Thomas started thinking about all the other children who lose their hair while being treated for cancer, so he decided to grow his long enough to help them out.

“He didn’t set a time frame for how long he would grow his hair for, he just wanted it to be long enough to make the girl feel happy,” said Amber Lynne, the kind-hearted boy’s aunt. “It started off just fine when his hair was shorter. But as the afro grew, they had to cornrow it to keep it nice and tame.”
Thomas spent two years growing his hair out, and he recently decided that it was finally time to cut it. His hair was so long that it was able to make three wigs for cancer-stricken children!
“He was feeling nervous about getting the cut, wondering what he would look like,” Amber said. “Thomas said he felt good about it and hoped it would make other people happy.”
“Myyyy baby! I’m so proud of him!” Angela Pulos, Thomas’s mother, wrote on Facebook. “He’s breathing all hard and smiling so BIG right now!!!”

Kyssi, the little girl who inspired Thomas to do this, sadly lost her battle with cancer. However, her mother Marla is proud that her daughter inspired another child to do something to help others in her position.
“To know that my sweet angel Kyssi is still an inspiration, even in her absence from the earth makes me one proud mom,” Marla wrote on Facebook.
We applaud Thomas for going out of his way to help other children in need! We need more kids like him in the world!
